About Golden Bridge

Golden Bridge e.V. is a charitable organization promoting access to education in order to empower children and young adults living from economically disadvantaged Himalaya regions and Tibetan settlements in India. Golden Bridge e.V. was officially registered as tax-deductible charity in the beginning of 2019.

Creating a better future
through the power of education

Our work is targeted at creating a sound mental and practical foundation for children and young adults by providing access to excellent education. In doing so, we lay the foundation for a successful and content life which in turn empowers the children to take charge of the pathways of their own lives and of the lives of others. We perceive educational support as the bridge that leads out of dependency and poverty towards a joyful, meaningful and successful life. Golden Bridge furthermore engages in preserving the Tibetan Buddhist culture and focuses in particular on strengthening the dialogue with the Western culture, upholding a modern and peaceful approach to living together in this world whilst bridging geographical borders.

Globally connected and committed to the local community

Through our voluntary work and the on-site realization of our projects, and through direct contact with our local project manager and much support from our dedicated helpers from Lama Cheno Trust in India, we ensure that your donations will be put to good use where they are needed the most and where they have the most beneficial impact.

With your donation, Golden Bridge is currently supporting the construction of the monastery school (boarding school) “Urgyen Kater Rabye Ling” in the Tibetan settlement Dhondeling in Kollegal, South India.

Through student sponsorships for the Taksham Monastery, the oldest monastery in Dhondeling, we are also supporting the education of children and young adults from the poorest regions of India who are studying at Taksham Monastery.

Patronage – Pema Rinpoche

Pema Rinpoche is from Tibet and grew up in a Tibetan Settlement in South India. He is a renowned Buddhist scholar and senior professor from Ngagyur Nyingma Institute in South India.

He received a thorough academic and spiritual education from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche who both awarded the Khenpo title to him. He taught as a professor at Shechen Institute and Namdrolling Institute and took care of the children with great kindness. Afterwards Pema Rinpoche taught extensively many countries, including India, Bhutan, Nepal, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia and since 1996 in Europe. With the blessing of H.H. Penor Rinpoche and H.H. Karma Kuchen Pema Rinpoche established the Palyul Dharma Center Europe (Greece, UK, Bulgaria and Germany) in 1997.

After more than 20 years of working in Europe Pema Rinpoche and his students now wish to bring together Pema Rinpoche’s activities in Europe and Asia and have therefore established the charity Golden Bridge in order to provide poor children with a good education as well as to support the development in the Tibetan Settlement Dhondeling in South India by building a Tibetan Buddhist school.
